Me

Over Saskia

My work consists of collages, paintings and drawings of an imaginary organic world.
With my nose on the ground, I photograph small plants, fungi and critters.
I regularly look at the smallest nature through a microscope. I also collect visual material from existing literature and old encyclopedias.
Hereby I investigate the relationship between shape and texture in different life forms. Recomposing visual material creates entirely new organisms.

I studied drawing and free painting and obtained my diploma as an autonomous visual artist at the Constantijn Huygens Academy of Visual Arts in Kampen.
Years later I studied again at Artez School of the Arts in Zwolle, where I obtained my diploma in spatial design and art education.
